The Netscape browser cookie settings are accessed through the Edit submenu. You can access this from Netscape's top menu bar.
Click on the menu option "Edit" and the submenu will drop down. This is called a "drop-down" menu for obvious reasons.
From here look for the "Preferences" option. Highlight this option and click on it with the Left Mouse button.
After pressing on the options button a large Prefences window will be displayed. The white box on the left contains the navigation tree. We will use this to find the cookie settings. In the next picture we show a close up of that section.
Find and click on the "Advanced" section of the Preferences tree. This will bring up the security options we're looking for.
To enable cookies, we recommend: "Accept only Cookies that get sent back to the originating server. To disable cookies, we recommend: "Diable Cookies." Because many shopping carts and other site functions rely upon cookies you may want to have your cookies turned on. Click "Ok" when done.
If you set "Warn me before accepting cookies" on the previous screen this is the kind of pop-up you will see from time to time. Note: This cookie will be set forever. In the next screen you will see an example of a cookie that will only be set for the duration of your current browsing. When you turn your browser off the cookie goest away.
In this example you can tell what the cookie is doing. It will set the value of your last visited HTML page and will not keep the cookie for more than the current session.
